Fixed bar path, one hand, high pull.

Lead with the elbow and stop at chest height so your shoulder doesn't impinge.
Gripping the centre of the Smith bar with one hand and pulling to chest height leads with the side delt, while the traps and biceps assist the elbow's climb. The fixed track keeps the bar tight to your body on a dead-straight line, something a swinging one-arm pull can never guarantee. It earns its place as a strict unilateral shoulder builder, with the chest-height stop keeping the movement in the range where the delts actually work.
Above chest height the delts stop contributing and the shoulder position gets cranky. Elbow up and out, bar to chest level, squeeze, done. Higher is not better here.
An off-centre grip makes the fixed bar tilt and fight you. Gripping dead centre keeps the load balanced so the working shoulder pulls a clean vertical line.
Each shoulder pulls its own load with no help, exposing and fixing side-to-side gaps. The free hand can also brace on the frame, keeping your torso still for stricter reps.
