Drill the jerk dip and drive with a light pipe.

Keep the dip dead vertical, leaning forward sends the pipe out in front of you.
This drill isolates the jerk's dip and drive, and the quads own both halves, bending for the short vertical dip and firing to launch the pipe overhead. With no real load, all your attention goes to the detail that decides jerks, keeping the dip dead straight down so the drive sends the pipe up rather than out. It earns its place in every jerk warm-up and as homework for anyone whose bar keeps sailing forward.
A few inches, roughly a quarter of a squat. Deeper turns it into a slow front squat and kills the bounce, the dip should be short, sharp and vertical.
Your dip is drifting toward your toes or your chest is tipping. Keep your torso vertical, weight on mid-foot, and think about driving the pipe past your face in a straight line.
The pattern trained here, dip and drive to lockout, underpins both lifts. Drilling it light builds the timing you will use whether you finish as a push press or drop under into a jerk.
