Crush grip strength, one hold at a time.

Squeeze through the whole hand, not just the thumb. Don't let the plates separate.
Pinching two smooth-sided plates together and standing with them is the most honest grip test in the gym, there is nothing to hook your fingers on, so your thumb and fingertips alone keep the plates from sliding apart. The forearms burn from the constant squeeze, and the smooth surfaces punish any lapse in pressure instantly. It is the classic builder of pinch strength, a grip style that bars and handles never train.
The smooth faces remove any lip or texture your fingers could cheat with, so the hold becomes pure pinch strength. Flanges facing out would turn it into a partial hook for your fingers.
Work in holds of roughly 10 to 30 seconds and stop just before your grip fails, setting the plates down under control. Failed drops teach nothing and flatten toes.
Add hold time first, then move to heavier plates or add a third plate in the middle. Take small jumps, pinch strength builds slowly and does not reward hero attempts.
