Quick back activation you can do anywhere.

Keep your torso still and let your back, not momentum, do the pulling.
Anchoring a mini band low and rowing it to your waist puts the lats and mid-back through their signature job, driving the elbows back and squeezing the shoulder blades together, with the biceps assisting the pull. The tension is modest, which is the point, it lets you groove a strict row and genuinely feel the back working without weight to heave. That makes it perfect activation before pull day or honest back work when a gym is nowhere in sight.
At low tension it is best used for activation, posture work, and high-rep sets. For raw size and strength you still want heavier rowing, but this teaches the mind-muscle connection those heavy rows depend on.
Around your feet works kneeling or seated, or trap it low under something solid. The anchor just needs to be below chest height so the pull line runs toward your waist.
You are pulling with your traps instead of your lats. Set your shoulders down away from your ears before each rep and think about driving the elbows back, not lifting the hands up.
